Originally from Wyoming, I moved back to Colorado from Washington 5 years ago to raise my family. My wife Lindsay and I have 2 boys, Miles and Briggs. We live in Windsor where I have my business, Windsor Eye Care. We absolutely love Northern Colorado and the people here.
After 15 years away from any kind of sport I figured it was time to get back in shape. I also realized how out-of-shape I was when I watched my twin brother compete in an Ironman. Pretty hard looking at a mirror (figuratively) and realizing you are the fat brother. And so the journey began 4 years ago with a humbling experience at Boulder IM 70.3.
The camaraderie. Although it is an individual sport, it feels like everyone is pulling for you.
Cold water! Still takes me at least 5 minutes standing at the edge of the pool every workout trying to convince myself that it's not that bad.
Northern Colorado has so many endurance athletes and we really need a club that can bring everyone together in an organized fashion. It's so much more fun to train and race together with people you know.
Never quit! No matter how bad it seems, there are people who aren't as lucky to be able to hurt so good.
Getting to know more of the Northern Colorado endurance athletes on a social basis.
Finish the year with a good showing at Age Group Nationals and IM 70.3 Worlds in Mont Tremblant.
