USAT Level I
As a member of the multisport community for the past ten years, JT has seen tremendous growth in the sport and is "looking to pass along (his) knowledge to anyone looking to better themselves through the sport of triathlon." A certified Level I USA Triathlon coach, JT's love of the multisport lifestyle began at a very early age when his parents paid him an allowance, not for doing chores, but for swimming, biking, or running. Running was always his favorite discipline and he earned a spot on the California State University, Stanislaus’ cross country and track teams.
After graduating, JT was accepted to the US Navy’s Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Ensign in 2007. While training cycles and deployments kept him busy, he still wanted a new physical challenge and found it in the sport of triathlon. He quickly excelled and earned a spot on Team USA at the ITU Long Course World Championships in his first Half Ironman (third race ever). Since then, he has competed in several other international events, including the 70.3 World Championships and Ironman New Zealand.
After leaving the Navy, Justin returned to school at Colorado State University where he graduated with a Health and Exercise Science Degree 2014. He quickly became a key member of the CSU and Northern Colorado triathlon community serving as CSU team president in 2013. Justin has also had the honor of racing for the All-Navy Triathlon team at the Armed Forces Championships. He also is the owner of the NoCo Endurance Center, LLC which offers athletes an indoor cycling studio, and VO2, lactate threshold, and resting metabolic rate testing.
